Proven Perennials for Sale for $4.00 each

Dear Friends, Our unusually cool and wet summer has allowed me to dig and pot up perennials all season. They are now well-established and ready for planting. September/October is a GREAT time to plant. Autumn's cool, wet weather promotes growth and root development to provide you with showy blooms next spring/summer. All plants are GUARANTEED. If one of my plants does not survive, I will replace it. Just say the word.

My divisions are in "gallon-size" pots. Comparable plants are sold at local nurseries, online, and retailers for much more than my $4 price.

Quantities are limited: Call 271-6432 to reserve your plants now--I will set them aside until you can pick them up. If you are not in Leelanau at this time or not feeling ambitious this fall, but want to reserve anything for next spring, I am also happy to set aside your plants and care for them until you pick them up in April or May. Please feel free to refer this website page on to your gardening friends!

_Shasta daisies: late June bloomers, 3 to 4 feet tall, classic daisies on sturdy stems last forever in the garden and in the vase, easy to grow in sun or part shade.

_White phlox "David." Mildew resistant, 3 to 4 feet tall, big, puffy white August blooms, does well in full sun or part shade.

_Lavender phlox. 3 to 4 feet tall; big puffy lavender August blooms. Does well in sun or part shade.

_Lavender. Hidcote variety; thrives in our climate. Silver green stems, fragrant deep blue blooms in July.

_Rudbeckia "Goldstrum," or better known as black-eyed Susans. August bloomer, 2 to 3 feet tall, does great in full sun or part shade. Prolific spreader.

_Bearded Iris, tangerine, blue or peach. Generously sized divisions. Late June bloomer; each flower a work of art in itself.

_Pink Monarda, or bee balm. Lovely lemony scented leaves, blooms in July, 3 to 4 feet tall, loves full sun or part shade. Prolific spreader.

_Yellow yarrow, "Moonshine." Lovely silver-green foliage, compact habit, 2-3 feet tall, blooms late June; long lasting flowers provide constant color for a month or more. Likes full sun.

_Tall yellow yarrow. Starts to bloom just as the one above finishes on tall sturdy 4 foot high stems. Flat heads can span 5 inches in diameter. Great for back of the border; a nice well-behaved perennial.

_Pink heuchera, "coral bells." Delicate, bell shaped flowers bloom in July. Great edger at 12 to 18 inches tall. Likes full sun, compact habit. Blooms for 6 to 8 weeks-hummingbirds love the flowers.

_Blue Sea Holly, (Eryngium) blooms in July. True-blue, thimble-shaped spiky blooms on stems that can reach 3 to 4 feet in height. Must have full sun. Long bloom period. Very unusual look is a garden standout. Drought resistant.

_Blue catmint blooms early in June. Spikes top compact, mounded plant with lacy, silvery foliage. 2 feet tall, loves full sun.

_Lamb's ear; named so for its soft, fuzzy leaf. Also features lavender spikes that look great with peonies. Great edging plant. Loves full sun.

_Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla). The chartreuse color of the tiny sprays of flowers are great for contrasting in the garden. Rounded silvery green leaves are covered in soft down and are beautiful particularly as they catch raindrops and hold them like diamonds in the center of the leaf.

_Pink Astilbe. Blooms in june, feathery plumes about 2 feet tall. Good in shade or sun. Plumes turn copper colored as they fade.

_Veronica. Long lasting bluish-purple spikey flowers with glossy green foliage. Blooms in sun or partial shade in July, about 3 feet tall. A great addition to any garden and one of my all-time favorites.

_Tansy. Tall (4- 5 feet) back of the border plant loves full sun and features button shaped sprays of lemon yellow flowers in August. Prolific spreader.

_Orchid Pink Yarrow. Blooms in July with orchid pink flowers. Makes a statement all by itself, or is a nice accent in a bouquet. Does well in full sun or part shade.

_Burgundy Yarrow. Same as above, only a rich burgundy color.

_Chinese Red/persimmon Yarrow. Same as above. As flowers fade, centers turn tan, giving this an interesting look even on itıs way out.

_Centranthus. Also known as Jupiterıs beard. Pink 2 to 3 foot blooms come in June. Birds and butterflies like it. Does well in full sun or part shade.

_Sedum Autumn Joy. What a winner. Blooms in September on thick stems with pinkish heads. A fantastic plant for a foundation that looks good from start to finish.

_Russian Sage. Tall, wispy clouds of welcome blue that wave in the breeze bloom in August when colors other than yellow are in short supply. 3 feet tall; loves full sun.

Quantities are limited! Call 231-271-6432 to reserve your plants now. I will set them aside and care for them until you can pick them up.
