Some Basic Info...
Come with friends and family to pick your flowers for later assembly. Please note that we do not supply or sell ribbons, pins, tape or other items you may need to DIY.
For DIY, I supply scissors, water, containers and floral preservative. It’s also a good idea to bring your own buckets and jars of varying sizes. If you pick your flowers and store them in a cool place with preservative, they will definitely hold for a few days. (Cooler morning or evening hours are good times to cut.)
Everything I grow lasts a minimum of 5 days in the vase; some flowers last as long as two weeks! Of course the closer you pick your flowers to the wedding, the fresher and more beautiful they will be. You may pay by cash, check, made out to OCF, and leave it in my lock box. You may also Venmo to @OmenaCutFlowers (I do not accept credit cards.) I have pens and notepads in the shed for people to keep track of what they pick. Flowers are priced by the stem and marked by the row.
I suggest that if possible, DIY brides come out a week or so in advance to see what is blooming, what is about to bloom, and to make a sample bouquet or two. I also suggest that DIY brides have a backup source if there is a particular color, flower or filler that they are after. There is usually a large supply to pick from, but it’s advisable to have a second source to supplement if necessary.
Testimonial...
"Omena Cut Flowers was the perfect place to pick the flowers for my wedding. It turned into one of the most special family bonding experiences the day before the big day. I’m from Southern California, and several of my family members who came with me had never been to Michigan before. I brought my mom, dad, now mother-in-law, and two of my bridesmaids (who are now both my sisters-in-law), and we had the best time!
We arrived first thing in the morning and were all completely in awe of the beauty of the farm, and the stunning lakefront view was the cherry on top. There were so many laughs and sweet memories made that I’ll cherish forever. I had a vision for what I wanted my flowers to look like, but it was amazing to see that vision come to life among Carolyn’s gorgeous blooms.
The flowers were also incredibly affordable, especially compared to some of the quotes I received elsewhere. After our morning at the farm, we had a bouquet-building party with my bridesmaids and family, which was such a joyful and creative way to kick off the wedding weekend.
I’ll never forget that day or how special it felt. Thank you, Carolyn, for sharing your beautiful flower farm and making such a meaningful part of my wedding come to life.
Love,

Our Wedding History
At this time, we are only offering DIY weddings. For nearly a decade, we offered full service wedding work, from bridal bouquets to arches to centerpieces. And we are very proud of the work we did and cherish the relationships we made with our brides and their families. In looking to simplify, reduce stress and workload, we made the tough decision to back away from wedding work in 2023. We have relationships with a number of wonderful designers who come to the farm to pick our flowers and would be happy to refer you to them.
